Forensic Psychology Division
The Forensic Psychology Division of Telangana State Forensic Science Laboratory is a specialized unit that interfaces psychology and law. This division applies psychological principles and knowledge to various legal activities, especially related to crimes listed under the Indian Penal Code.
The primary function of the division is to conduct polygraph examinations, which are based on the principle of psychosomatic interaction within an individual who is under investigation for various criminal and felony charges like rape, murder, economic offenses, cyber crimes, etc.
Additionally, the division has facilities for verifying the veracity of statements of suspects, complainants, and witnesses.
