Documents Division
The Documents Division of Telangana State Forensic Science Laboratory is responsible for examining various types of questioned document problems in all forensic aspects, such as handwriting identification, type-writing identification, printed matter identification, seal and stamp impression identification and more.
The division also specializes in the detection and decipherment of erasures, alterations, over-writings, additions, obliterations, determination of the sequence of strokes and other related aspects.
The documents examined by the division include bank drafts, cheques, receipts, wills, affidavits, bail bonds, lottery tickets, anonymous/ransom letters, answer sheets of different examinations, suicide notes, agreements, passports, currency notes, skin tattoo marks and more.
Additionally, the division has faculties for the examination of computer crime cases.

Expertise in handwriting/signature identification, detection of forgery, and identification of alterations in documents.
Advanced latest instruments - VSC 8000, Regula VSC, Stereo Zoomed Microscope and Stereo Microscope.
Capability to determine the age of documents, examination of stamp impressions, seal comparison, sequence of strokes, indented writings, charred documents, carbon paper, ribbon, stencil, ink, tricky/built-up documents, and partially visible/invisible strokes on documents.
Experienced in examination of typewriting, printed matter, computer printouts, Xerox copies, lottery tickets, counterfeit currency, credit cards, travel documents and other security/legal papers, arson cases, and trap cases.
