Chemical Sciences Division
The Chemical Sciences Division at Telangana State Forensic Science Laboratory is equipped with sophisticated instruments such as LCMS, LC-MS/MS,GC-MS,HPLC, HPTLC, GCHS, UV-Visible, FTIR Spectro-photometers to carry out chemical analysis of viscera, NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances), and explosive remnants of accelerants in arson cases.
Additionally, examination of trap cases and miscellaneous cases are also conducted in this division.

The Chemicals Division employs advanced analysis techniques to unravel the mysteries hidden within chemical evidence, aiding in the pursuit of justice.
- Chemical analysis of viscera, narcotics and psychotropic substances, remnants of accelerants in arson cases, etc.
- Examination of trap cases and other miscellaneous cases.
- Identification of volatile and non-volatile poisons, inorganic anions and cations, and organic compounds.
- Detection of inflammable material and their residues in arson cases.
- Detection of dyes used in trap cases.

- Examination of corrosive chemicals in acid throwing cases.

- Identification of miscellaneous poisons such as mineral acids, alkalies, organic acids, and toxins of poisonous plants, animals, and insects.
- Chemical examination and identification in samples like liquor, adulterated liquor, petroleum products and their residues, explosive substances, cracker compositions, acids, alkali, tobacco, and noble metals, among others.
