The mobile phone devices of the deceased and the alleged person/suspect in a 9-member murder and POCSO Act case that occurred in Warangal were seized and sent to TGFSL for the analysis of the data. Some of the devices were password and pattern protected. These devices underwent forensic software analysis, and data, including deleted data, was retrieved by cracking the passwords and bypassing the patterns of the mobile phones. Data related to the modus operandi relevant to the homicide was retrieved from internet artifacts and browsing activities, along with timeline details and data from various WhatsApp chats. Additionally, objectionable images and video files of the victim child were retrieved from the mobile phones of the accused. The completeness of the digital evidence presented in the court of law has greatly assisted the prosecution and resulted in a conviction.
