On October 25, 2020, a complaint was received from a water supplier. He reported that around 6 a.m. in the morning, he suddenly heard a loud sound. Immediately, he went to the location and observed an unknown person lying beside a GHMC rickshaw used for dumping dust and mirchi trolley. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the individual’s left hand was severely crushed up to his wrist. During questioning, he revealed that the blast occurred while he was picking up dumped dust from the GHMC rickshaw.

With the assistance of the police, he was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. Subsequently, the dumped plastic cans, broken plastic pieces, cans containing liquid, etc., were collected and sent to the FSL for examination.

Upon analysis of the forwarded exhibits, the presence of Dimethyl Phthalate, an organic chemical substance, and inflammable hydrocarbons such as thinner, were detected.
